Das Deutsche Theater hat für den 25. Juni die neue Inszenierung der MUTTER COURAGE von Peter Zadek angesetzt. Schon jetzt sind die Karten nahezu ausverkauft. Den Teilnehmern der Brecht-Konferenz wurde freundlichst ein Kontingent an Karten zur Verfügung gestellt. Diese müssen allerdings von Ihnen selber bestellt und vorab bezahlt werden (VISA-card); die Abholung kann an der Abendkasse erfolgen. Für folgende Preisgruppen gibt es die Möglichkeit der Reservierung: 6 x Preisgruppe I (42.- Euro), 6 x Preisgruppe II (34.- Euro), 6 x Preisgruppe III (26.- Euro) und 6 x Preisgruppe IV (18.- Euro). Bitte wenden Sie sich mit Ihren Kartenwünschen bis zum 3. Juni - mit dem Hinweis auf das Kontingent für die Brecht-Gesellschaft (!) - direkt an das DT unter folgender Email: service@deutschestheater.de.

The Deutsches Theater is staging the new production of MOTHER COURAGE by Peter Zadek on the evening of June 25, the day before the symposium begins. Tickets are already almost sold out. A contingent of 24 tickets is being held for symposium participants, however you MUST order these yourself and pre-pay (Visa card). You may pick up your ticket at the box office the evening of the performance. Montag, 30. Juni / Monday 30 June

Das Sommerhaus von Bert Brecht und Helene Weigel in Buckow am See ist -- nicht nur aufgrund der 'Buckower Elegien' (die, wie bekannt, ihren Ursprung in den Juni-Ereignissen vor genau 50 Jahren haben) -- ein etwas abseits liegendes Kleinod, das jedoch für Brecht-Freunde, die nach Berlin kommen, ein Muss ist. Nach den Mahagonny-Tagen in der Metropole ist ein Ausflug am Montag (30. Juni) in das ländliche Buckow eine sicherlich nicht nur erholsame Alternative. Für Interessenten ist eine Führung durch das Haus, den Garten und das Bootshaus reserviert. Anschliessend besteht die Möglichkeit für einen Rundgang durch das Dorf sowie für ein gemeinsames Mittagessen. Die Fahrt nach Buckow ist mit dem Regionalzug von Berlin aus unkompliziert; die Fahrzeit beträgt ca. eine Stunde und kostet (im Gruppentarif) 7,60 Euro/Person für Hin- und Rückfahrt. Für die Führung durch das Brecht-Weigel-Haus entstehen Kosten von ca. 5 Euro/Person (abhängig von der Teilnehmerzahl). Interessenten werden gebeten, sich bis zum 30. Mai zu melden bei Thomas Jung

Brecht's and Weigel's summer house on the lake in Buckow is a jewel located outside Berlin and a must for all Brecht friends visiting Berlin. Just recall the collection of "Buckow Elegies" which were inspired by the events around the June 17 uprising 50 years ago! After the Mahagonny days in the metropolis an excursion on Monday, June 30, to the rural Bockow will certainly be a relaxing alternative. A tour of the house, garden and boathouse has been arranged; afterwards it is possible to walk through the village and eat lunch together. The trip to Buckow is with a regional train from Berlin, travel time about 1 hour, and it costs (for a group ticket) 7.60 Euros roundtrip/person. The tour of the Brecht-Weigel house costs about another 5 Euros (depends on the size of the group). If you are interested in participating, please contact Thomas Jung by May 30th (the number of participants is limited!).

Gleichfalls für den Montag nach der Konferenz ist ein weiterer Ausflug im Angebot: Wer sich nicht dem Bann der Grossstadt entziehen kann und gleichsam das Berlin der zwanziger sowie der fünfziger Jahre auf den Spuren Brechts kennenlernen will, dem sei die Stadtführung empfohlen: Mit Ausgangspunkt Brecht-Platz vor dem Berliner Ensemble wird eine ca. 2-stündige Führung durch Berlin-Mitte geboten, auf der die damalige Theaterlandschaft und die Treffpunkte der Intellektuellen jener Jahre eine eigene Topographie der Stadt ausmachen.
Die Kosten für die Führung liegen bei ca. 7 bis 8 Euro/Person (je nach Teilnehmerzahl).

Also on Monday, June 30, an additional excursion is being offered: if you prefer not to escape the clutches of the metropolis and would like to learn about the Berlin of the twenties and fifties that Brecht knew, we can recommend a city walking tour. Beginning at the Bertolt-Brecht-Platz in front of the Berliner Ensemble, a two-hour guided tour ("Auf den Spuren Brechts") through the theater landscape and the intellectual meeting places of those years will bring to life the topography of the city. The guided tour costs between 7 and 8 Euros/person (depending on the number of participants). Please contact Thomas Jung by May 30 at the latest if you wish to participate (again, participation is limited).
